Caution: I brake for wildflowers ...
The following galleries feature wildflowers I've photographed from my favorite "go to" locations throughout Oregon and the Mojave Desert. Blooming seasons are often quite short and I may have only a few days to catch a certain flower in peak bloom. But, if I miss it, there's always next year! While some images are "artsy," others are more botanical in nature and simply showcase the plant.

East CascadesIncludes everything along the Cascade Lakes Highway to the Mckenzie Pass, Highway 58, Highway 20 and Iron Mountain.

West Cascades
Highway 138 west to Glide. Although there is still snow at home, flowers bloom much earlier on the west side of the Cascades.

Northern OregonAreas along the Columbia Gorge, including Rowena Crest and over to the Washington side to
Catherine Creek Meadows. |
Southern OregonIncludes the Rough & Ready Botanical area and Eight Dollar Mountain near Cave Junction
and Selma. |
Big Summit PrairieLocated in the Ochoco Mountains east of Prineville, this area is a jackpot of summer flowers. Flowers bloom between April and July

Mojave DesertSouthern California regions from the San Garbriel Mountains to Big Bear,
Mojave National Preserve and Death Valley. |
